Xi’an International Studies University is located in Xi’an, a famous historical and cultural city in China, which has served as a bridge connecting the country to the world since ancient times. Today, in this city where history and modernity converge, students can immerse yourselves in the languages, histories, and cultures of all nations, becoming envoys of cross-cultural exchange and contributing your wisdom and strength to the global development.

In 1979, XISU officially started enrolling international students, and became the first institution of higher learning in Northwest China dedicated to teaching Chinese as a foreign language. After more than four decades of profound development, over 20,000 students from 45 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, and the Republic of Korea have graduated from XISU and returned home. Since 2019, XISU has fully opened all undergraduate’s, master's and doctoral majors to international students, gradually establishing a talent cultivation system that integrates language training with academic education and combines short-term programs with long-term overseas programs.

Rooted in the traditional excellent Chinese culture and keeping pace with the trend of modern civilization development, XISU consistently adheres to its university motto: “Patriotism, Diligence, Erudition, Innovation”.
