2.Passport and Visa Copies
Please submit the personal information page of your passport and any Chinese visa page if available.
3.Diplomas, Degree Certificates, and Official Academic Transcripts
Doctoral applicants must submit the Bachelor's and Master's diploma or degree certificates andfull undergraduate and postgraduate transcripts.
* Current graduates shall submit your current academic transcripts and proof of expected graduation at the time of application. The expected date of degree award shall be no later than August 31, 2025. You shall present the final academic transcripts, original graduation certificate and degree certificate upon registration.
4.Language Proficiency Certificates
① Chinese-Taught Programs:
a) HSK Requirements
Applicants for Humanities and Economics programs shall achieve HSK Level 5 with a minimum score of 210, or HSK Level 6 with a minimum score of 180.
Applicants for Science programs (excluding Economics), Arts and Physical Education programs must achieve HSK Level 5 with a minimum score of 180.
b) Study Experience in Chinese-Taught Programs
Applicants who completed undergraduate or master's studies in Chinese at a Chinese university may submit a verification letter issued on official letterhead by relevant university departments (such as the Registration Office or Graduate School). Upon review and approval by XISU, applicants may be exempt from submitting HSK certificates.
② English-Taught Programs: Native English speakers are exempt from submitting English proficiency certificates. Applicants from non-English-speaking countries shall provide one of the following certificates (IELTS ≥ 6.0 / TOEFL ≥ 80 / Cambridge English ≥ B2) or other equivalent English proficiency certificates recognized by XISU.
5 .Two Letters of Recommendation

Recommenders shall be associate professors or above, or senior professionals in relevant fields.
Recommendation letters shall be written in Chinese or in English and be dated after September 1, 2025. Each letter must include the recommender's professional title, working institution, telephone number, email address, and signature.
6. Personal Statement
Length: A minimum of 1,500 words for doctoral applicants.
Language: Chinese (for Chinese-taught programs) or English (for English-taught programs).
ontent: Your statement should cover the following aspects:
1.Your academic background, relevant research experience and achievements
2.Your proposed study plan for the postgraduate programs
3.Your career development goals after graduation
The personal statement must highlight your academic capabilities, research potential, and overall suitability for the programs.
7. Research Achievements
Please provide a list of your published academic articles with abstracts, along with any other original research outputs that demonstrate your academic abilities (if applicable).
Doctoral applicants must submit the abstract page(s) of their Master's Degree thesis. (*Only the abstract is required; the full thesis is not needed.)
8. Research Proposal (For Doctoral Applicants)
* Doctoral applicants are advised to contact a prospective supervisor in advance.
9. Certificates of Award (If applicable)
Supplementary Application Materials:
1. Applicants for art-related programs must submit a portfolio of their own work.
2. Applicants for the Master's in International Chinese Language Education must also submit a short essay (approximately 1,000 words) on a topic related to this field.
3. Applicants for the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (ICLTS) must submit a valid HSK certificate. Proof of Chinese language study experience will not be accepted as a substitute.
Master's programs under the ICLTS: HSK Level 5 with a score of 210 or above, and HSKK Intermediate with a score of 60 or above.
4. All scholarship applicants must submit a physical examination report that is valid for six months.

Applicants must strictly follow the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form and are required to submit the detailed blood test report.
Please note that your application will be automatically rejected if:
The form is not fully completed with all required information.
Your photograph is missing or does not bear an official seal that partially overlaps the image.
Both the attending physician's signature and the hospital's official stamp are not provided.
5. Scholarship applicants must submit a Certificate of No Criminal Record issued within six months prior to the date of application.
Applicants must submit a Certificate of No Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority. The certificate should normally be issued within six months prior to the application submission date. Applicants residing in China may apply for this certificate at the local Exit-Entry Administration Bureau.
