2.Passport and Visa Copies
Please submit the personal information page of your passport and any Chinese visa page if available.
3.Diplomas, Degree Certificates, and Official Academic Transcripts
Applicants for Master's programs shall submit the Bachelor's diploma or degree certificate and full undergraduate transcripts.
* Current graduates shall submit your current academic transcripts and proof of expected graduation at the time of application. The expected date of degree award shall be no later than August 31, 2025. You shall present the final academic transcripts, original graduation certificate and degree certificate upon registration.
4.Language Proficiency Certificates
① For Chinese-taught programs, applicants shall submit a copy of a HSK certificate (valid within two years).
a)HSK Requirements
Applicants for Humanities and Economics programs shall achieve HSK Level 5 with a minimum score of 210, or HSK Level 6 with a minimum score of 180.
Applicants for Science programs (excluding Economics), Arts and Physical Education programs shall achieve HSK Level 5 with a minimum score of 180.
b) Study Experience in Chinese-taught Programs
Applicants who completed undergraduate or master's studies in Chinese at a Chinese university may submit a verification letter issued on official letterhead by relevant university departments (such as the Registration Office or Graduate School). Upon review and approval by XISU, applicants may be exempt from submitting HSK certificates.
②English-Taught Programs: Native English speakers are exempt from submitting English proficiency certificates. Applicants from non-English-speaking countries shall provide one of the following certificates (IELTS ≥ 6.0 / TOEFL ≥ 80 / Cambridge English ≥ B2) or other equivalent English proficiency certificates recognized by XISU.
5. Two Letters of Recommendation

Recommenders shall be associate professors or above, or senior professionals in relevant fields.
Recommendation letters shall be written in Chinese or in English and be dated after September 1, 2025. Each letter must include the recommender's professional title, working institution, telephone number, email address, and signature.
6. Personal Statement
Word Count: At least 1,000 words for Master's programs
Languages: Chinese (for Chinese-taught programs) or English (for English-taught programs)
The statement should include your academic background, your research experience and achievements related to the intended field of study, your study plans during graduate studies and your career goals after graduation. Applicants are encouraged to highlight your academic ability, research potential, and overall qualifications.
7. Research Achievements
Applicants may submit a list of your published academic papers and the abstracts, as well as other original research achievements to demonstrate your academic competence (if available).
8.Applicants may submit award certificates or other supporting documents (if available).
Supplementary Materials
1.Applicants for Art programs must submit your personal works.
2.Applicants for the Master's programs of International Chinese Language Education must additionally submit a short essay related to international Chinese language education (approximately 1,000 Chinese characters)
4.Applicants for the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (ICLTS) must submit valid HSK certificates. Proof of previous Chinese-taught study experience cannot be used as a substitute.

5.Scholarship applicants shall submit a physical examination report issued within the past six months.

Applicants shall complete all examination items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form and provide detailed blood test reports. The form will be considered invalid if any required items are missing; or if the applicant's photo is not attached or not stamped with the official seal across the photo; or if the form does not bear the signature and official seal of the physician and hospital.
6.Scholarship applicants must submit a No Criminal Record Certificate issued within the past six months.
Applicants should submit a valid No Criminal Record Certificate issued by the local public security authority. The document shall generally be issued within six months prior to the application date. Applicants currently residing in China may apply for this certificate through the local Exit-Entry Administration Bureau.
